To mark the anniversary of the legendary singer's death seven years ago this month, BBCtv are showing this memorable film record of Elvis Presley's concert tour of America in 1972 in which his sensational performances delighted faithful fans and newcomers alike. The film captures the magic of songs ranging from early hits such as 'Don't be cruel' and 'Love me tender' to contemporary ballads such as 'Bridge over troubled water', as well as providing a rare, off-stage picture of the man behind the legend.

The operation to raise the Mary Rose captured the public imagination in October 1982. Neither HRH The Prince of Wales, Margaret Rule or anyone else will forget the moments when the hull broke the water, when the frame collapsed, when the ship came home.
Now John Selwyn Gilbert and Margaret Rule look back together on the whole story, and forward to plans to conserve the ship, with film of activity behind the scenes before the lift, and excerpts from the outside broadcast coverage and from the Chronicle films of the excavation.

When a baby dies at birth, or in the first few days of life, too often he may be taken from his parents before they can see him, or hold him, and then buried in an unmarked grave, unnamed on a death certificate, never photographed. Friends and family may avoid talking about the tragedy. All this is done to try and protect the parents from pain. But in fact the parents need to talk about their grief - a photograph and a funeral can be a lasting comfort. In this programme, parents of stillborn babies and the professionals who care for them describe their feelings in a documentary which, when first transmitted, the British Medical Journal said was 'a marvellous, enlightening programme which will become part of teaching material'.
This revised programme includes some of the stories, volunteered by the many parents who responded to the film when first broadcast, about the reactions from other children in the family when a baby dies, about cot death, and about the damage that can be done when a hospital deals clumsily with newly-bereaved parents.
