The film starring
LeVar Burton , Paul Sorvino
This powerful film is based on the true story of Donald Lang , a 20-year-old black who was accused of murdering a prostitute in Chicago. Donald was not tried - because he could neither hear nor speak. Instead the courts judged him incompetent to face trial and effectively committed him to life in an institution. His attorney, Lowell Myers , himself deaf, began a five-year struggle for justice.... The film follows their remarkable story and its tragic aftermath. (First showing on British television)
