Missions to Comets
Interest is growing as Halley's Comet continues to draw in toward the sun. Already there have been 'trial runs' in observing the much fainter Crommelin's Comet, and of course several space-probes will be launched toward Halley, to rendezvous with the comet in March 1986.
Patrick Moore discusses these developments with Dr John Davies of Newcastle University, and explains what British observers may be able to see.

The Benson and Hedges Cup Final Lancashire v Warwickshire
PETER WEST introduces further coverage.
Lancashire may have even surprised themselves in reaching Lord's: their young side and their tigerish fielding certainly surprised Essex and Nottinghamshire on their way to their first Final.
Warwickshire's batting strength is well known, and last-gasp victories over Yorkshire have given them a first Final appearance in the competition.

The feature film starring
Peter Finch , Glenda Jackson and Murray Head
Twenty-five year old Bob Elkin has two older lovers-Daniel, a homosexual doctor and Alex, a divorced business consultant in her mid-30s. Inevitably the emotional strain is great for all of them and one weekend Bob decides to bring matters to a head.
John Schlesinger 's highly-praised film is considered by many to be his most sensitive and important, treating a complex story with insight and compassion. Both Finch and Jackson give outstanding performances as the two lovers, painfully accepting the situation out of a combination of loneliness and quiet desperation.
