Eddie Hatch, a department store window dresser, gets rather more excitement than he bargained for when, in a moment of whimsy, he kisses a statue of Venus which comes alive with obviously amorous designs on him! Life is not made easier with the presence of a jealous fiancee and the store owner who wants his priceless statue back. This romantic comedy is based on the original stage musical by S.J. Perelman and Ogden Nash and contains three of the original songs by Kurt Weill.

The 1984 Museum of the Year Awards with Sue Jay and Kenneth Hudson On 3 February 1980 the Big Pit, Blaenavon, stopped producing coal. This typical Welsh coal mine re-opened in 1983 as a museum, where visitors can go underground to walk the roadways and see the coal faces. Kenneth Hud son reports on one of the liveliest of the new museums that entered for this year's competition.
Old established museums find it harder to be innovative: Sue Jay looks at one that has succeeded - The Devizes Museum, which has recently added a natural history gallery to a superb archaeological collection and received the judges' special award for its endeavour.
