Private ' Homicide ' Randle has a soft spot for a corporal in this army farce. Not surprising, since Cpl Paula Clements comes in the form of Diana Dors ! Unfortunately, a lecherous NCO has designs on the curvaceous corporal. Randle, probably Lancashire's most famous music-hall star, is in characteristic mood as the troublesome soldier in an army more fanciful than real.

Music, mutiny and midsummer madness are the ingredients in this good-natured comedy set in a school. When their popular teacher, Mr Dingle , is sacked, the boys and girls rebel and barricade themselves in the gym-but luckily all ends happily. The school orchestra features prominently in the story and if their talents seem remarkable then perhaps Humphrey Lyttelton and his band should share in the honours.

A concert from the Concert Hall of Hessischer Rundfunk in Frankfurt-am-Main, by the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, leader FELIX KOK, under its conductor Simon Rattle.
In October last year Simon Rattle and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra made a European tour. They visited Birmingham's 'twin city', Frankfurt-am-Main, where Hessischer Rundfunk televised the complete concert. Each item in this shortened version is introduced by Simon Rattle.

Ludovic Kennedy investigates one man's involvement in the Cambridge spy network - a scandal which shocked the British establishment. Michael Straight, son of a wealthy and distinguished American family, was an active Communist during his student days at Cambridge in the 1930s. He was a leading member of the Apostles, a secret society popular among left-wing homosexuals. His colleagues included Guy Burgess, who later defected to Russia, and Anthony Blunt, who ordered Straight to feign a mental breakdown and return to America as a Kremlin agent.
'They have instructed me to tell you that this is what you must do,' said Blunt. For 26 years Michael Straight agonised over whether or not to expose his Cambridge friends whom he knew to be spies for Russia. Eventually, in 1963, he revealed all to the FBI, forcing the then Sir Anthony Blunt, Surveyor of the Queen's Pictures, to admit finally to his treachery. But did Straight betray his country and ours? Why did he delay the exposure of Burgess? And are there any more traitors to unmask?
