Presented by Brian Widlake and Valerie Singleton
With LUKE CASEY, NICK CLARKE and MARK ROGERSON. Featuring: Budget 83
Sir Geoffrey Howe 's fifth budget on Tuesday has special importance. This could well be election year. The consensus is that the Chancellor could have plenty to give away in tax cuts, although volatile oil prices and the state of the pound must mean daily arithmetic for him. But his measures will also be gauged in the light of where Britain has got to since the Tories came to power in 1979. From inside the Treasury, The Money Programme team investigates the present state of our economy and forecasts what this budget will bring to us all.

New Guinea Teenage Trek
Journeys into the forests of New Guinea used to be the prerogative of professional explorers. Now, almost anyone with a sense of adventure can reach places previously known to only a few.
This film is a record of one such adventure; a group of teenage Australians trek into the interior of New Guinea, meet the tribes-men and are guided by them through the mountains and the jungle.

from the beautiful Ailsa Course at Turnberry Hotel, Ayrshire, scene of the 1977 Open Championship.
Golfing superstars Lee Trevino and Severiano Ballesteros , who between them have won every major championship, lead teams of celebrity partners as they challenge for the Marley Trophy.
In 1948 the star of the hit musical Oklahoma!, Howard Keel , took London's West End by storm. Nowadays he's better known for his role in Dallas, and proves a useful partner for Lee Trevino. In contrast, Cliff Thorburn made his name as recently as 1980, when he became World Snooker Champion. Also an excellent low handicap golfer, he returns to the programme to partner Seve Balles teros in a very close and entertaining match.
PETER ALLISS commentates and talks with the players in this match over nine selected holes.
