' I do work, I just don't work a lot.' Matthew Sullivan 's school career has not been a great success. His ultimate intention is to be a ' rock star' but he will need the assistance and advice of careers teacher Bert Webb if he is to get work in the meantime. Yvette Graham wishes to be a doctor; Colin Aldred an art teacher. Neither will require so much assistance from the careers service, but both will need to achieve exam success if they are to pursue their ambitions. A-levels taken, they nervously return to school in midsummer to receive their results.
The ultimate test of the chrysalis of Kingswood will be the success of the young adults that emerge from it into the harsh environment outside a comprehensive school.
