How do we spend the first nine months of our lives, before birth? Babies are born every day, yet for such a familiar event it's remarkable how little we know about what happens between conception and birth. But now doctors, using new techniques, have been able to see the development of a child inside the womb itself, and have revealed something more miraculous than most of us can imagine. This is an extended version of the film first shown to Schools in the series General Studies.

To introduce a season of classic Westerns, we present an affectionate look at the American cowboy, Hollywood's most romanticised creation. This American programme features some of the great stars who transformed the dusty, desolate cattle trails and towns of America into an arena of adventure, heroism and rugged individualism. It includes clips from such classics as Shane starring Alan Ladd , High Noon with Gary Cooper , Gunfight at the OK Corral starring Burt Lancaster and Kirk Douglas , as well as the great William S. Hart in Tumble-weeds Landrush in 1925. Written by BRUCE MARTIN
