The last of four parts.

Tigris, hit by a storm, loses her top mast. She is gradually sinking. Suddenly, she is confronted with the 20th century in the form of the Ogaden War. Buzzed by planes and with ports closed to her, Tigris has nowhere to go. Heyerdahl, after four months and 3,000 miles faces the agonising prospect of being forced to end his voyage.

2: Will I Have 100 Friends ? kazumi is blind, yet when she was 4 years old she attended a kindergarten for normal-sighted children near her home in the suburbs of Tokyo. It was the first step in an experiment which has become famous in Japan. Integrated education for the handicapped has existed in some countries like Britain, in a limited way, for many years. Not so in Japan. Kazumi was the test case. There were serious doubts as to whether a blind child could cope with the rough and tumble of normal school life, and it was only through her mother's determination and Kazumi's own personality that the authorities agreed to give it a try. Japanese television followed Kazumi's progress over 18 months from kindergarten to the end of her first year at primary school.

The 19th century shook the Church of England out of its easy-going mould. The grimy suburbs of the Industrial Revolution were fast becoming strongholds of nonconformism or, worse still, atheism. In these areas, new churches were hurriedly built to stem the rising tide of dissent. This week, donald sinden visits St Mark's, Worsley, near Manchester, and All Souls', Haley Hill , Halifax. Both churches were built in the revived Gothic style which had ousted the classical style and had come to be seen as the only true Christian form of architecture. Both were also the work of Sir George Gilbert Scott , perhaps the most typical architect of the Gothic Revival, and certainly the most prolific.
