Starring Humphrey Bogart, Walter Huston, Tim Holt, Bruce Bennett

Harold Evans has selected an adventure story of passion and conflict as his favourite film.
Humphrey Bogart and Tim Holt give sterling performances as itinerant Americans caught up in the Mexican gold rush. But it was Walter Huston, the director's father, who won an Oscar for his role as the grizzled old prospector whose dour predictions come true.

Building a Future
A film made last month with a group of young Catholics and Protestants during a weekend away from
Belfast. All in their teens, they have, until recently, had little or no contact with the ' other side'. What's it been like, growing up during the troubles of the past ten years? How different are their problems compared to those of teenagers across the water? What about their new friendships and hopes for the future?
A small group of Catholics and Protestants spending the odd weekend away may seem like a drop in a troubled ocean, but as one 16-year-old put it '... you start building a house with one brick, you put one brick on top of the other. It starts off small and gets big with time.'
