One night a few years ago sonar equipment registered two large moving objects in the peaty waters of Loch Ness. Simultaneously an underwater camera photographed two shapes which, when computer enhanced, looked like animal fins. In 1975 two more pictures were published.
In this documentary Hugh Burnett looks at some of the evidence, eye-witness accounts and opinions which suggest that Loch Ness is either the world's most amazing natural aquarium or just another Scottish loch haunted by the legend of the water horse.

Tonight from BBC Northern Ireland
The Bold Bad Baronet or The Diabolical Wager
In 1807, the Court of King's Bench Dublin awarded £20,000 damages to Lord Cloncurry (of the Co Kildare), in an action he brought against Sir John Piers, (of the Co Westmeath) for seducing his wife - an offence quaintly described in Irish Law, then and now, as 'criminal conversation'. Mr (sic) Frank Delaney unravels the strange tale of mystery and romance that lies behind this celebrated court case, with the help of Sir John Betjeman, Mr Rex Beaumont and his peacocks, Ulick O'Connor, The Hon Desmond Guinness, the Baron de Robeck and Patrick Ussher.

Charles Aznavour presents Les Grands Moments du Music Hall
Tonight's programme comes from one of the world's most celebrated music halls: L'Olympia in Paris.
AZNAVOUR has assembled performances by some of France's most talented chansonniers, and he tells us something of the history and nature of the French chanson.
' The French song is a little more than a simple song, a little less than poetry. Also, I believe that the moment the Frenchman began to complain, he started to write songs! '
The highlights of French music hall are recalled with the help of the singers and their songs:
Josephine Baker , Gilbert Becaud Zizi Jeanmaire. Mireille Mathieu Edith Piaf , Charles Trenet Sylvie Vartan and Charles Aznavour

Joseph Losey 's second French film, shown a fortnight ago in the London Film Festival, receives its first public screening in Britain tonight. Losey himself describes the film as ' a story full of jealousy, crises, collisions, rivalries, misunderstandings -and love.' Jean Larrea , the son of Spanish political refugees, is a naturalised Frenchman but for years he and his wife, Eve, have been couriers for anti-Franco freedom fighters. Their son. Laurent, has an uneasy relationship with his parents but Jean is chiefly preoccupied with the film script he is writing - until he learns that Eve has had an accident in Spain.
