How on Earth did They do That?
How did the tornado carry Dorothy's house to the land of Oz? How did King Kong strip Fay Wray ?
The special effects men of cinema and TV, who move mountains, conjure up ghosts, manipulate monsters and make the impossible happen tell their story. Their art is to make the camera lie; to create an illusion of reality.

Hans Jtirgen Syberberg succeeded in persuading the 78-year-old daughter-in-law of Richard Wagner to be interviewed.
The programme is introduced by Bryan Magee , mp, author of Aspects of Wagner, and throws light on the background of Winifred before she married Siegfried Wagner and became the undisputed mistress of Bayreuth until the end of World War II, when she had to hand over the reins to her sons
Wieland and Wolfgang.
The Times wrote that one is not ' able to experience boredom or inattention in the presence of this handsome, dominating, grimly humorous, formidable old lady, scorning fact or fiction.'
Winifred Wagner is English-born, but the interview is in German with English sub-titles.
