Tonight, with film from Swedish Television, Europa continues its investigation into the remarkable events surrounding recent political bombings in Italy.
In 1970 there was an attack on an Italian city every two or three days and allegations were heard of a deliberate strategy of terror by fascist groups. Guiseppe Pinelli , an anarchist caught in the undercover war between right and left, falls from a fifth-floor window while under interrogation by seven police officers. Suicide, say the police. It could all add up to a deliberate attempt by very senior Italian police to cover-up acts of terrorism by the extreme right. Introduced by Derek Hart
