The world of motoring introduced by Cliff Michelmore
One in every four new cars sold in Britain is foreign, and these imports may grow even more. Why are so many home motorists not buying British? On the Diamond Jubilee of the founding of the British motor industry by William Morris, tonight's programme looks for some answers.
In Scotland Maxwell Boyd road-tests a new version of the world-beating Jaguar XJ6; and at the Frankfurt Motor Show Gordon Wilkins reports on the new cars which our European rivals have to offer.
