Once a year in Mexico the dead come back to share a meal with their families. On this day - The Festival of the Dead - one must offer them all the things they cared for when they were alive.
Favourite food and drink and even their pistols and spears must be at the graveside or on the altar. 'In Mexico the living and the dead are on very good terms,' claims one European television reporter.
Tonight's programme looks at the way of death in parts of Mexico and Europe.

A season of films showing the adult world from the child's point of view.
Tonight The Children are Watching Us
Starring Luciano de Ambrosis as Prico with Emilio Cigoli, Isa Pola.

Four-year-old Prico witnesses his mother's infidelity and watches with uncomprehending eyes the gradual collapse of his parents' marriage.
This early film of Vittorio De Sica, rarely seen in Britain and largely overshadowed by Bicycle Thieves and Umberto D, is itself a minor masterpiece and marked a turning point in the great Italian director's career.
