Which is the richest welfare country in the world? Which country has the highest per capita income for its people? Where are the telephones used 50 times more than average? The answers are the same, Abu Dhabi in the Persian Gulf. In just ten years two things have transformed Abu Dhabi's old style Arabian existence into a 20th century economy sprouting from the desert-oil and Sheikh Zayed the ruler. Oil money keeps pouring in - Abu Zayed's problem is how to spend it. With Britain leaving the Gulf to its own devices Paul Griffiths has been to see how they are using the money and how they will cope with the future.

The End of the Wells?
It's nearly three centuries since Mr Sadler's Musick Theatre opened in Islington, near the site of 'medicinal' springs. Today, Sadler's Wells, famous as the birthplace of Britain's foremost ballet company, risks closing down: the theatre needs £50,000 to continue as the present London home for visiting dance and drama companies from the provinces and abroad.
Tonight, Review looks at the history and problems of a fascinating theatre, with Douglas Craig, present Administrator, Ninette de Valois, founder of what was once 'Sadler's Wells' and is now the Royal Ballet, and Margot Fonteyn and Robert Helpmann in a rare film sequence from 1937 rehearsing for Frederick Ashton's "A Wedding Bouquet".
