A Western adventure series starring Pete Duel as Smith and Ben Murphy as Jones with guest stars Judy Carne, Tom Ewell

In the considered opinion of Smith and Jones, looking for buried treasure is not the most peaceful of pastimes. When a woman is also involved in the hunt they expect big trouble. And they get it.

Is it really vital for mothers to spend all their waking lives with their children? How do people in other lands go about teaching their kids to behave well? Are children happier in the Botswana bush, in the forests of New Guinea, or at boarding school in the Home Counties? Does it really do any harm for children to know all about sex?

The second programme to be repeated in The Family of Man series compares the way people go about bringing up children in five different places: Colne, Lancashire; Esher, Surrey; a village in the Indian Himalayas; another in northern Botswana; and a forest settlement in the highlands of New Guinea.

"The Family of Man is fun" (The Times)
"One of the most fascinating ideas to reach TV in a long time" (Daily Express)
