The 'pirate coast' was the name given to the Arabian Sea coast while the Royal Navy was clearing a safe sea-route to India. There are no pirates now; but there are revolutionaries - such as the Sandhurst-trained prince who overthrew his father to end reactionary rule in the Sultanate of Muscat and Oman.
The changes this royal revolutionary needs to make - and whether he will be allowed to make them - is the subject of this West German television film.
