If you think of Jimmy Logan only as an entertainer who presents a traditional kind of Scottish show, you're in for a surprise when he returns to your screen tonight in the first of a new series of regular fortnightly shows.
They'll be quite different from the kind of thing this popular Scot usually does. Producer John Street sums it up: 'Colourful and glossy, chic and sophisticated-the aim, in fact, is the Danny Kaye kind of show.'
Of course Jimmy will have his own vocal spot. But he'll also be involved in other numbers-he'll join his musical guests, and be taking part in the sketches. The Jimmy Logan Show will go out live. It'll be mainly musical, but always there will be one very sophisticated act, with two or three very good artists.
Each of the programmes will include a tribute to someone in show business-starting with Jack Buchanan.
