Six films of his jaunt in the sun last August.
It's Sunday, the day when you enjoy yourself... and the Mexicans are real professionals when it comes to enjoying themselves...
from the South and West
In the fourteenth century the Aztecs settled on two mud-banks in the centre of a huge mountain lake. They practised land reclamation by floating rafts of wattles, mud, and reeds, the roots of which anchored the rafts to the lake-bed. Over the centuries the whole area took root, and it is now Mexico City.
All that remains of the lake is a group of 'canals' on which grows a beautiful green leafy moss. They are called the Floating Gardens of Xochimilco and, together with Chapultepec Park in the centre of the city, they are among the Mexicans' favourite Sunday resorts.
