A play for radio by I. R. Pugh.
'Don't you think that something must remain after two people have lived together in one place for such a long time? I suppose that happiness or sadness is something like a smell that could get into the walls and so on ... You know how awful an empty house is. Well, this house has never felt empty to me ...'

The Naked Island by-RUSSELL BRADDON
When Russell Braddon steamed into what the British believed to be the ' impregnable ' fortress of Singapore in 1941, as a member of an Australian infantry battalion, they were full of hope and excitement: at last they were going to war.
This is the story of how the remnants of that force managed to survive in the jungle and fight back against the Japanese.
The script was adapted and produced by ALAN BURGESS

There are now thought to be more than 6,000 pressure groups operating in this country and although their interests differ widely, they have one common purpose ... to make Authority change its mind.
George Scott investigates the growth of such groups: how they operate; what are the factors that make them succeed or fail: and whether or not they are a legitimate part of the democratic system or simply devices for vocal minorities to wield unjustified influence.
