When Russell Braddon steamed into what the British believed to be the ' impregnable ' fortress of Singapore in 1941, as a member of an Australian infantry battalion, they were full of hope and excitement: at last they were going to war.
This is the story of how the remnants of that force managed to survive in the jungle and fight back against the Japanese.
