First, from the Lake District Ray Moore introduces all the girls in the grounds of the glorious Rydal Mount, once the home of William Wordsworth and his family.
Then, in the Norbreck Castle Hotel, the 12 semi-finalists parade first in swimsuits and again in formal gowns to be assessed on beauty, personality and figure for a first prize of £7,500 plus automatic entry to the Miss World contest in November.
