The second of a series of four films looking at the historic alliance between Man and his animals.
The Camel
Introduced by Joe Henson
JOE HENSON , a Cotswold farmer interested in the survival of rare breeds of domesticated animals, takes a personal look at the way the camel has played its part in the building of civilisation in the more arid parts of the world, its influence on religion, war and trade, and even on some modern engineering achievements.
Despised by some, its unique qualities have helped create a civilisation which, in some parts of the world, now threatens to destroy the camel's very existence.
