The BBC1 Documentary
Friday, 14 May, was an important day in the life of Judy Dady : she entered hospital for an operation -the beginning of an experience that most of us will go through sometime in our lives.
National Health hospitals throughout the country cope with about five million of us during the year -and if you're a woman your chances of going through a similar experience are almost twice as high as your male counterpart.
Tonight's programme follows Judy through the routine of life in hospital, sharing her experiences from the time she arrives to have her gall bladder removed to the day-two weeks later-when she waves goodbye to her friends in the ward and returns home. Narrator IAN HOLM
