Tonight's programme looks at homes in America - including San Francisco's "painted ladies", the 17,000 Victorian buildings which have mutated according to their occupants' needs.
Nick Nairn travels to Argyll to take a lesson in scuba-diving so he can make some scallop-based dishes as this week's starter. He meets a Highland cattle farmer in Kilmun who uses organic methods and makes a fillet of beef steak; and for dessert he picks blackberries for a tart.
