Benguela and the Burning Shore
The Namib Desert in Africa is one of the most unusual places on earth. Its baking sand dunes tumble into an ocean cooled by an icy current called the Benguela, giving rise to the oddest assembly of animals, including ferocious fur seals, dancing lizards, beetles that bathe in fog, and blind sand-swimming moles. Antarctic wildlife, such as penguins, teem on the same shore as hyenas, jackals and antelope from Africa. Narrated by Tim Pigott-Smith . Skeleton Coast, an explorer'sjourney through the Namib continues on Tuesday at 9.30pm. Producer Richard Matthews ; Series editor

Second of three programmes about one of the most controversial political policies of the last 20 years - privatisation.

John Plender reveals how the Government's gamble with the sale of BT led to a Conservative crusade to push back the frontiers and everything became a privatisation candidate.
British Gas was the biggest flotation the world had ever seen, and also led to an epic battle between the then Chancellor of the Exchequer Nigel Lawson and chairman Sir Denis Rooke over the plans for privatisation.
