Family adventure starring Rick Schroder

Seattle, 1897: lured by tales of the Gold Rush, young John Thornton heads for the Yukon. On the way, he comes across Buck, an Alsatian stolen for work as a sled dog. Sensing a common bond, John tries to buy Buck, only to be cheated. His quest to find Buck becomes as intense as his search for gold, but each must endure an Alaskan winter before they are reunited.
