In September Tony Redmond took another team of British doctors into Sarajevo. At the time, the ceasefire was still holding but the city was tense and full of uncertainty.
More than half of Sarajevo's doctors have been killed or have managed to escape. Those left behind struggle on, with very little hope for the future.
This week, Simon Kinggoes in search of giant slow worms on Flat Holm in the Bristol Channel, stalks the ninja terrapins of Cardiff City and combs the streams of Gloucestershire for insects that build mobile homes from gravel.
