Presenter David Malone explores how this, and other areas of scientific endeavour, are open to exploitation by others with political rather than scientific motives at heart.
He also looks at waste disposal on a grand scale: why we are so bad at getting rid of large junk, such as spent nuclear reactors, obsolete oil rigs, unwanted concrete buildings and chemical plants that are past their sell-by dates. The family claim their critics don't understand their unconventional lifestyle.
