Coverage from today's top matches in the French Open at the Roland Garros stadium in Paris, as the competition nears the halfway stage. Last year, the strong Spanish contingent prospered on the slow clay courts, with Sergi Bruguera taking the men's title and Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario the women's to complete a clean sweep of the singles titles in one of the sport's four Grand Slams. But the player currently enjoying the best form is Austria's Thomas Muster, who outplayed Bruguera in the final of the Italian Open for his fifth clay court title of the season and a record 28 straight wins on this surface.
