Series examining the role of zoos now and in the future.
The Zoos that Time Forgot Two Eastern bloc zoos are struggling for survival in the post-communist era. For most, the clock stopped in the 1950s - a time when zoos were important municipal status symbols modelled on Victorian menageries. Now Bucharest Zoo in Romania and Yerevan
Zoo in Armenia are trapped in a 40-year timewarp. This film focuses on attempts to modernise both zoos and rescue the animals from their poor conditions. Producer Kate Broome
Executive producer Grant Mansfield
