Michael Ignatieff returns to the land of his birth to report on nationalism in Canada. "Quebecois nationalism is the one I've really seen at first hand," he says. "When I lived in Canada, I thought I was beyond nationalism myself, but going back I reallse that my own sense of where I come from is a lot more important to me."
French-speaking Quebec nationalism is a major political force in Canada, but there are other less publicised minorities. Haitian immigrants may not be welcome in Quebec, and in the north, theCree people put their case for an internationally recognised Cree nation. Producer Colin Thomas
