Acquaintance Rape - Hidden from View, Hidden from Justice? A woman's fear of rape centres around the possibility of being attacked by a stranger. The reality is that women are far more likely to be raped by someone they know - a boyfriend or even their boss at work. As many as one in nine women could have been raped by such acquaintances. Bernarda Alba condemns her five unmarried daughters to eight years of confined mourning. Only the eldest may speak to a man, her fiance, through a barred window at night.
