Reportage - Special
A Generation in Trouble. A special report from Northern Ireland on a generation which has never known peace. It discovers that, contrary to the claim that there is a silent majority, most still remain committed to the sectarian divide. Yet young people are uniquely oppressed by the paramilitaries who act as moral police, exacting retribution on all teenage rebellion - joyriders, petty criminals and drug-taking. As ecstasy has hit the province, anti-drug warnings have begun appearing on the walls of west Belfast.
The exodus of young people continues apace. With Aminatta Forna.
