First of two programmes revisiting citizens of the former Soviet Union, who were first filmed for the award-winning series Comrades seven years ago. True Believers. In 1984, Rita taught in a Moscow school,
Tatyana was a Communist Party official in the Far East, and Lyuba was a People's Judge in Moldavia. They shared a burning faith in the Soviet system.
Today, the USSR is dead and the comrades are singing a different tune. Rita took to the barricades last August in support of Boris Yeltsin and democratic reform.
Tatyana quit the Party and is now a zealous convert to free enterprise. And Lyuba reveals her true colours as a devoted
Moldavian nationalist.
