Six programmes about the vitality and relevance of myth.
4: Sacrifice and Bliss. The idea of the sacred place is a strong one.
Stonehenge, Delphi, Jerusalem and many other places are felt to be areas where time and eternity come close to each other. Joseph Campbell taught that this sacredness needs to enter each person's life: 'You must have a room, or a certain hour a day or so, where you do not know what was in the newspaper this morning, you don't know who your friends are ... where you can simply experience what you are and what you might be. This is the place of creative incubation.'
