Around AD 1000, the secrets of generations of early Irish domesticity were sealed beneath a 20ft high grassy mound. In 1985, a County Antrim farmer decided to develop his land and to demolish the mound. Unable to preserve it, Dr Chris Lynn and a team of archaeologists from the historic
Monuments and Buildings Branch of the Department of the Environment were forced into a 'rescue' excavation. A Slice in Time records the recovery of those buried secrets from the mound at Carnalbanagh.
