'It is so much more exciting to have a family of people who are completely different,' says Fr Luke, the parish priest of a small Catholic church in the heart of London's inner city.
Here West Indian, Asian, Irish, Italian, South American and South London parishioners stand side-by-side for one brief hour each week. They all have stories to tell of exile and migration, of the large world events which have affected their lives, landing them unexpectedly in this place.

With one week to go before the start of this year's
Lombard RAC Rally, William Woollard , Barrie Gill and Tony Mason relive the drama of last year's event. In a season when the Lancia team had carried all before them, could a Japanese assault at least loosen their grip on the international rally scene? Could a full Russian works team make its mark and could Markku Alen finally win this championship at his 14th attempt?

Close to the Edge and Still Operating ...
The last of three programmes about Magnum, a co-operative of the world's leading photojournalists.
The film features the work of some of today's most acclaimed photographers:
Sebastiao Salgado 's visionary photographs of famine in Africa; Eugene Richards 's compassionate photo-essays on drugs and poverty in the United States: and James Nachtwey 's unflinching record of the wars of our time. While filming was taking place this year, the tragic and dramatic events in China were unfolding.
Magnum photographers were in China to witness and record what happened before, during and after the student demonstrations and subsequent massacre.

"There are only two men that I look up to - Slim Gaillard and Dizzy Gillespie. Without them I wouldn't be playing." (Miles Davis)
This week Slim Gaillard's story comes up to date. Today he lives a life of gentlemanly leisure in London pursuing an interest in golf, snooker and the occasional appearance at international jazz festivals.
From the fireside in his club he surveys his film career, looking back on roles in Roots, Absolute Beginners and Planet of the Apes. He introduces us to his family - in particular, his daughter who married Marvin Gaye. He goes down to the station early in the morning to see the little puffa-billys all in a row and reveals all about the girl in the testcard.
