Weather followed by Wild World
Cranborne Chase
Between Salisbury Plain and the New Forest is one of the quietest corners of southern England, a countryside of deep woodland and high rolling downs. This is
Cranborne Chase, a place for woodcock and lapwing, where March hares court and display, and fallow and roe deer run free.

A Pattern of Building Ludlow, Shropshire
Written and presented by Alec Clifton-Taylor
Ludlow, in the centre of the Welsh Marches, is probably Alec's favourite small town. It exemplifies precisely his concept of a pattern of building - stone for the church, the bridges and the castle; wood for the medieval houses, often carved with great exuberance as at the Feathers Hotel; plaster for the ceilings; and brick for the handsome houses of the Georgian town.

Six encounters with the delights of home-made pickles and chutneys and the people who make them to perfection. With Davilia David and David Mabey
4: Sunshine in the Jar A host of new flavours and new pickles have come to Britain from
India and the Caribbean.
Mayblin Hamilton's pickled peppers and Dounne Moore 's hot pepper sauce give Davilia an unexpected gastronomic experience, while Meena Patak and Saroj Bajpai demonstrate the pickles that are made for the family in an Indian home. All ingredients are readily available throughout Britain and the results are terrific! But first Davilia strikes a blow for her Australian homeland with a melon pickle of distinction.

Charles Wood 's Theatre of War
When he wrote the award-winning Tumbledown, Charles Wood was returning to a theme which he has been exploring for nearly 30 years. Wood is the author of more than 100 scripts for stage, TV and cinema, from films such as The Knack to the BBC comedy series
Don't Forget to Write. But he is also a former regular soldier, and from historical epics like H and The Charge of the Light
Brigade to the vicious attack on the myths of the Second World War in Dingo, Wood has dramatised his own fiercely ambivalent feelings about war and heroism. Bookmark turns the limelight on this fascinating and neglected writer, with contributions from Richard Eyre , Peter Nichols , Richard Lester , Robert Lawrence , MC, and others, and specially-filmed extracts from Wood's stage plays featuring Richard Griffiths and Paul Shelley.
