Since the Tate Gallery bought Twin-Tub with Guitar in 1982, Bill Woodrow's work has been a witty and unmistakable presence in British sculpture. His raw material is the detritus of consumer life: with hand-shears and pliers he spins a menagerie of bizarre images from the surface metal of discarded washing machines, spin-dryers, vacuum cleaners and car bonnets to create complex and darkly humorous sculptures.
Tonight Bill Woodrow gives a guided tour of his work, from early student experiments (with floating twigs) to major recent pieces such as Hobo.
