The America's Cup 1983- 7
Narrated by Charlton Heston The skipper, Dennis Conner , was not a good loser. He had lost the America's Cup - and broken the longest winning run in sporting history: 132 years. That was in September 1983.
Written off as a has-been, he battled for three long years - first to be taken seriously and then for the right to try to win the Cup back from the triumphant Australians. It is the story of one of the greatest comebacks in sport, from almost total disaster to world-conquering triumph. Produced by DALE HARTLEBEN (A BRITTANIC FILMS production)

Film director Ken Russell introduces a Marlene Dietrich double bill: her first triumph and a unique film portrait.
Marlene
When actor/director Maximilian Schell persuaded Marlene Dietrich to allow a detailed interview, she made one condition: she would be recorded in sound only. The result is a funny and moving tribute to a self-mocking but dogmatic star, illustrated with the best moments from her films and shows, and newsreel footage from her wartime tours.
Above all, it provides a rare insight into the difficulties of making a film biography when the subject is a little uncooperative.
Directed by MAXIMILIAN SCHELL
(In German with English subtitles. First showing on British television) and at 11.10
The Blue Angel (Der blaue Engel) starring
Marlene Dietrich
Emil Jannings
An ageing professor falls for the charms of a ruthless nightclub singer. Abandoning his career to tour with her, he soon finds himself in a humiliating role.
Famous as the film which made Dietrich an overnight star. Josef Von Sternberg 's timeless classic is a triumph over the technical difficulties of the period and also features Emil Jannings 's finest performance.
