A Nice Way to Treat People 'There was all these people lying outside in cardboard boxes and this doctor said, -
"Grab a box and join them", - I mean, that's a nice way to treat people.' PAT DALEY Most GPs will not register down-and-outs and others of 'no fixed abode' even though they might need medical treatment. One of the few practices that will see them is run by Dr Hilary Allinson based in a cabin next to a night shelter for the homeless in Oxford. With the help of Mike Hall , who runs Oxford's Simon House hostel, she spends much of her time helping alcoholics and the homeless, both young and old, who now find their way to Oxford just to visit the doctor.

Mark, His Sister and the Scientist
Mark is anchored to a wheel chair by a crippling inherited disease, Duchenne's muscular dystrophy. His sister Tracey is not affected, but she could be a carrier - in danger of passing the disease on to any boy babies she may have. And her problem is especially urgent because she is engaged to be married. The scientists, led by Kay Davies , are struggling to develop a test that will tell Tracey whether she is a carrier or whether she can forget her fears.

A series of nine programmes featuring natural history films from other countries. Symphony of Magic
Orchids are harlots of the plant world - offering sex to insects in return for the favour of pollination. Doron Hirshberg , a young Israeli naturalist, captures many such intimate moments in the lives of wild orchids which bloom in profusion in the middle eastern countryside.
This, his first film, took seven years to make on Super-8 equipment.
