Adam McNaughtan
Adam McNaughtan has been collecting children's street songs and games for over 20 years and, as he shows in schools in Glasgow, Aberdeen and Milnathort, playground inventiveness is as vigorous as it's ever been. There are skipping rhymes, ring-games, chants and clapping songs from the girls, while the boys play footie, fake death and tell some pretty awful jokes. Film editor ROBERT BURNETT

The Women's Giant Slalom Unlike the men, the 1985 medallists in the women's giant slalom have fallen upon hard times, and a repeat performance, with Americans first and third, looks most unlikely. Another home victory looms large, with the names of WRENI SCHNEIDER and MARIA WALLISER marked on most experts' cards - but TAMARA MCKINNEY may keep the Stars and Stripes flying. Commentator

Presented by Ian Hamilton African Voices
This month, Bookmark looks at two writers from Africa.
Nuruddin Farah is a Somali, the author of a highly acclaimed novel - Maps. But the nearest he can get to his native country is Khartoum in the Sudan, for his work is banned in Somalia and he himself is a wanted man.
Bookmark filmed him as he settled into the latest in a long line of adopted countries and Farah talked about
Islam, the oral tradition and the censorship that has kept him on the move so long.
Don Mattera , a poet from Sophiatown, is on the way back to his native South
Africa. Bookmark caught him in London, where he talked about his extraordinary career as a gangster and a freedom fighter and the years he spent as a banned person under apartheid. Directors

Stirring Stuff
A tribute to the British national drink and all who serve it.
We take 196 million cups of tea a day. We reach for a cup in a crisis; we break for tea when we can. And the heroines of our favourite brew are the ladies of the tea trolley. Alice, Dolly, Edna and Margaret stroll through the mayhem of money-brokers in the City, down the chic corridors of a West End advertising agency, along the open offices of local government in Yorkshire. They dispense advice and succour, entertainment and good cheer to their thirsty customers.
Jack and Daisy, who lost their partners years ago, tea dance their blues away in the Palm Court once a week. WVS ladies tell stirring tales of how a nice cuppa kept us going in the blitz. Tough men on army manoeuvres prepare their own special brew. And so do the chimps.
But over all hangs the threat of the dispenser....
