Arriving in a small town to take up a job as a schoolteacher,
Simon Robinson finds that his predecessor has disappeared under mysterious circumstances. Treated suspiciously by the locals, he finds himself drawn to the closed world of the family living at Summerfield Farm. His final unravelling of the Summerfield mystery leads to a tragic and horrifying conclusion.
