... Requiem for an Airfield Tangmere was one of the oldest and most famous stations in the RAF. Now it is derelict. The weed-infested runway and the abandoned control tower hold nothing but memories of pilots and airmen and women, whose finest hour came during the Battle of Britain. Should time erase all traces of the airfield, the graves in Tangmere churchyard will forever remind us of the place
Tangmere had in the history of the RAF. Some of those who served there remember. Film editor BARRIE JOHNSTON Producer JOHN COLEMAN

This story of love across the barriers of prejudice and tradition was one of the most successful of Hollywood's romantic dramas.

Han Suyin, a young recently-widowed Eurasian doctor, meets Mark Elliot, an American journalist who is unhappily married. She rejects him at first, but he is insistent and a passionate affair ensues...

The Goddess of the Earth
At this moment the plants in your garden are producing a gas which could set the planet on fire. Luckily, it won't happen - partly because of ancient bacteria in our guts! This idea forms part of a startlingly controversial theory put forward by Dr James Lovelock to explain how life on earth has survived for three-and-a-half billion years. He argues that life itself actively manipulates the planet, ensuring that the oceans don't boil or freeze and that the atmosphere remains breathable.
His name for this self-regulating system is Gaia - the ancient Greek goddess of the Earth.
