Nine programmes from the BAFTA award-winning documentary series Circuit Eleven Miami.
9: Ellen Morphonios is an ex-chat show hostess, an ex-wife (twice), and a crack shot with a muzzle-loading musket. She's also a no-nonsense Circuit Court judge, with a penchant for Draconian sentences peppered with homespun wisdom. One major regret of hers is that many criminals she's sentenced to the chair are still awaiting electrocution.
One of the judge's many admirers is a pretty young prosecuting attorney called Carol Guralnick , who sets out to follow in the foot-steps of this doyenne of Miami jurisprudence, by standing for election herself as a Circuit Eleven judge. Carol Guralnick seems to have all the qualifications. For she too is a former radio personality and an uncompromising hard-liner - elected by the people, and not appointed as in Britain.
