starring Gracie Fields with John Loder , Dorothy Hyson Stanley Holloway
When the Greybeck Mill closes down the workers face a bleak future. Gracie Platt decides to look for work elsewhere - first stop Blackpool! This lively musical comedy gives Gracie Fields a memorable part in a film which has an underlying seriousness-and topicality even today - thanks to a fine screenplay by J. B. Priestley.

Kent v Somerset
The trophy and £13,000 are the handsome rewards for the winners of this 60-overs-a-side competition.
VIV RICHARDS , JOEL GARNER and IAN BOTHAM are the stars of a Somerset side with such ability, that should they fail, there are lesser-known players waiting to shine. Somerset start as favourites, but Kent are not at Lord's to play a supporting role and could spring a surprise.

BBC2 Invitation Pairs Crown Green Bowling Tournament The Final
Robert Hitchen , Allan Thompson v Ken Strutt , David Blackburn
This year's final promises to be another classic. Holders and No 1 Seeds, Thompson and Hitchen, had a comfortable passage to the final, while their opponents, Strutt and Blackburn, were stretched in most of their matches. With both pairs on form it's anyone's guess who will pick up the winning prize of £2,000, but we are assured of some very high-class bowling.

Nine programmes from the BAFTA award-winning documentary series Circuit Eleven Miami
8: Bruce Rowe is homosexual. When he picks up a young hitch-hiker called Charles Randy Bentley, it's the start of a nightmare, which ends in bondage and burglary. His is a classic dilemma. If he says nothing, he will lose his property. If he reports the matter, he will lose his reputation. For what happened after he went kerb crawling down Biscayne Boulevard was bizarre and embarrassing, and no details will be spared when the matter comes up before Judge Richard Hickey.
Rowe's predicament is even more serious, because Miami is undergoing one of its periodic bouts of moral indignation against homosexuality. The campaign is led by the Baptist Church, spearheaded by the singer Anita Bryant, and underpinned by a peace choir, 'Cops for Christ'.
However equal he is before the law, there could hardly be a worse time than now for a man like Bruce Rowe to put his case before a jury of six good citizens of Miami.
