Sir Edmund Hillary returns to the mountains and people of Everest. For ever since he successfully climbed the world's highest peak Sir Edmund has wanted to repay a debt.... Without the Sherpas' help he felt that his herculean task would never have been achieved. So 30 years ago he asked his Himalayan friends what he could do for them. They all replied... 'a school for our children'. One school turned into 20, as well as hospitals, health clinics, air strips...
To help the Sherpas turn their hopes into reality, Hillary has now returned to Everest some 45 times.
This film, set in a country of great beauty and taken during Hillary's most recent visit, shows the conqueror of Everest at peace with the mountain and its people.
