In tonight's programme Paul Heiney becomes a stand-up comedian performing a spot as a female impersonator in front of one of the most critical audiences in show business on the bill of the ' oscar night ' of clubland.
His act is written by JIMMY PERRY , co-author of Hide-Hi! who warns ' This is like giving you half-a-dozen riding lessons and putting you in the Grand National'.
Paul is advised and encouraged by the top names in comedy including Ken Dodd , Danny La Rue , Kenneth Williams , Little and Large, Beryl Reid and Marti Caine - but even they cannot protect him from the terrifying ordeal in store on the big night.
